When I was a little girl, I was always drawn to the outdoors. You see, I was a tomboy. I went fishing with my daddy and climbed trees. I made mud pies and rode my bike from sun up to sundown.
When my mom signed me up for Girl Scouts I was so thrilled! I knew they went camping a few times a year and I was so happy to meet some gals just like me that loved the outdoors.
Before my first camping trip with the troop I was so excited the night before I couldn’t sleep! The next morning we all hopped on the bus and headed out to the cabins. Once we arrived it was exactly as I dreamed. Old wood cabins with cot beds and screens for windows. Outhouse bathrooms and hiking trails in every direction!
They Smell So Good
To some girls, this might sound like a nightmare. To me, it was my own personal dream and playground.
I made some amazing friends and learned many life lessons while in Girl Scouts and I wanted my daughter to have the same experience. Those memories are priceless to me.
After my daughter turned five I couldn’t wait to sign her up for Girl Scouts. Right after we moved into our Farmhouse and my daughter started her new school, they sent home a flier. They were starting up a new Girl Scout Troop! Perfect timing!
I can’t wait to be a part of this adventure with her and see her enjoy the same things I did as a kid. For she is very much like her momma. She prefers to be outside where the sun is shining and the trees blow in the breeze. That sweet freedom that comes from being outside with mother nature and all the beautiful things she has to offer.
Campfires, Cedar Trees, and that light breeze. These scents always bring back these fun camping memories from my childhood.

The new scents include:
- The Great Smoky Mountains
- Cape Cod
- Golden Gate
- Grand Canyon National Park
- Everglades National Park and
- Badlands National Park
I love that Yankee Candles is bringing attention to these amazing parks and donating 10% of sales to the National Parks Association.
These candles smell amazing and the four scents I’ve tried already are:
Grand Canyon National Park
Badlands National Park
Everglades National Park and
Cape Cod National Seashore
I can’t decide which one is my favorite because they truly all smell amazing. The Badlands has a bit more of a woodsy smell and I love that it reminds me of my special time in Girl Scouts and that I get to now share that with my daughter. So, because of that, I’d say that one would be my go to! But you can’t go wrong with any of them!
Don’t you just love how a scent can trigger a memory?
What’s one of your favorite Yankee Candles and does it remind you of a special time in your life?

I love these! Can’t wait to try them all, but suspect “Badlands” will be my go-to fragrance. GREAT that they contribute to the National Parks – MUST PROTECT THEM!
Oh my goodness!! We love going to National Parks so I’m so excited to see these scents. How neat!! I’ll definitely try them out!
Thank you Daraka! I too love them so much!
I love their French Vanilla. It reminds me of my grandma baking. I love their Applewood from m their Woodwick candles too! It’s what my mom has all over the cabin in Colorado. I love that they’re donating to the park services! Such a great cause.
Thanks Melissa! I agree! I LOVE their Vanilla as well!
